Ladakh Explorations & Expeditions are our favorite series of events of the year! It gets exciting every year as we keep adding on some extra adventure! This time we witness the culturally and visually vibrant Hemis Tsechu Festival. We will be riding our Royal Enfields on those long serene roads and completely off roads with views you will never see anywhere else; camping in the wilderness and dancing around the campfire; and creating everlasting memories! It is definitely an adventure of a lifetime! ____________________________________________________________________________________

Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival at Srinagar. Transfer to Kargil 
Day 2 – Kargil to Hemis Shukpachan
Day 3 – Hemis Shukpachan to Leh. 
Day 4 – Acclimatization in Leh
Day 5 – Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardungla
Day 6 – Nubra to Turtuk to Hunder
Day 7 – Nubra to Pangong Tso via Shayok
Day 8 – Pangong Tso to Sakti via Changla
Day 9 – Sakti to Sarchu
Day 10 – Sarchu to Manali
Day 11 – Manali to Chandigarh

Note: Upon the request of the clients, we customize the itinerary to include/exclude travel to Srinagar or Manali side journey. The cost will vary accordingly.


DETAILED ITINERARY 

Day 1 – Srinagar to Kargil via Zojila pass
Arrive at Srinagar airport and get picked up by our representative. Start your Ladakh journey on beautiful NH1 and enjoy the Srinagar Leh Highway in SUV / Tempo Traveller. First day of your journey will be around 200 km. Once you reach the Zojila pass, you are going to have an amazing view of the mighty Himalayan Mountains, which makes the drive worthwhile. You will visit the famous Kargil War Memorial which was built in the memory of the soldiers and officers of the Indian Army. Reach Kargil by late evening. Stay at Guesthouse in Kargil.

Day 2 – Kargil to Hemis Shukpachan via Lamayuru 
Post early breakfast, we head to Hemis Shukpachan - a beautiful valley village with freshwater streams and lush green fields. We stop at Moonland of Ladakh - Lamayuru for lunch and visit Lamayuru Monastery. Then head straight to Hemis Shukpachan for sunset point.  Stay at Guesthouse in Hemis Shukpachan. 

Day 3 – Hemis Shukpachan to Leh. 
Post early breakfast, head directly to Nimmoo for River Rafting at Confluence point of Indus and Zanskar River. Post lunch, visit Magnetic hill and Hall of Fame enroute to Leh. Reach Leh by evening. Stay at Guesthouse in Leh.

Day 4 – Acclimatization in Leh
This day is to rest and acclimatise to the high altitude. Once you are done with orientation and briefing, head out late in the afternoon to visit the local places (Leh Palace, Tsemo Monastery and Shanti Stupa) and give your bike a test ride. You can also do some shopping at Leh Market. Stay at Guesthouse in Leh

Day 5 Leh to Nubra valley via Khardungla
Our long ride starts with conquering the mighty Khardung La (the World's Highest Motorable Road at a height of 18,380 ft). Riding further downhill, we enter the heart of Nubra valley. It is an amazing experience that you will remember for the rest of your life. As we enter Nubra Valley, the ride along the Shayok River and then to witnessing Hunder sand dunes is a treat for the eyes. We will first visit the oldest and largest monastery of the valley - Diskit monastery and then head out to explore the sand dunes. After rolling around on the sand dunes, we finally head to our campsite. Campsite in Hunder.

Day 6 Nubra to Turtuk to Hunder
Around 80km further north from Hunder (Nubra), we reach a beautiful village which was part of former Baltistan. Turtuk is one of the last unexplored places in Leh - Ladakh and village still retains the pristine with very hospitable local people. Post lunch, we go further north to reach India Pakistan Border at Thang village. We return to Hunder same day. Stay at Campsite in Hunder.

Day 7 Nubra to Pangong Tso via Shayok
Today’s route is actually a shortcut road to reach the famous Pangong Tso via Shayok through rough and rocky terrain and in between water streams. The first glance of the alluring Pangong Lake and its blue waters is enough to leave a lasting impression on your mind. Our campsite for the night, which is our personal favourite, is by the lake itself at Lukung and 20 km away from the famous '3 idiots' shooting point. Stay at Camp in Spangmik

Day 8 – Pangong Tso to Sakti via Chang La
On our journey to Sakti today, we conquer the Changla La. It is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 17,590ft above the sea level, located in the Nubra valley. After crossing the pass, there's gruelling descent and we reach Sakti - a laid back village with lush green fields. Stay at a very lovely homestay in Sakti.

Day 9 – Sakti to Sarchu
After all the hardcore riding on tough roads, sit back and enjoy the Manali Highway in SUV / Tempo Traveller. Enroute Today you will also cross the third highest motorable road – Tanglang La. Then reach Sarchu by late evening. Stay at Camp in Sarchu.

Day 10 – Sarchu to Manali
We will depart early in the morning and cross the Ladakh border to enter Himachal. We will travel through the well-known Gata loops (Loops of the haunted), Lachulung La, Baralacha La, Zing Zing Bar. Enthralled Gata Loops start at 15,302 feet and 21 loops take you down to altitude of 13,780 feet. This road have been created out of nowhere to get human access via road to most improbable of places. The tough roads of Manali and yet beautiful valleys and scenic view is going to spell bound you! We will reach Manali by late evening. 

Day 11 – Explore Manali
Post breakfast visit sightseeing places around Manali. An overnight journey from Manali to Chandigarh.Thus your Ladakh Odyssey comes to an end with lots of new memories and experiences to take back.
