DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1: BAGDOGRA AIRPORT TO PHUENTSHOLING (170KM | 4-5 HRS)
Arrive at Bagdogra airport by noon. Get picked up by our representative and start Journey towards Bhutan in SUV / Tempo Traveller. Arrive at Phuntsholing Pedestrian Terminal and then complete with the Pre-registration of the individual at the immigration counter. Check into your stay and get briefing regarding biking before dinner.
DAY 2: PHUENTSHOLING TO THIMPHU (165KM | 5-6 HRS)
Firstly, we head towards Transport office for Driving License Endorsement for the bike riding. After doing some test rides at Phuentsholing, begin the biking adventure toward Bhutan's capital, Thimphu. Enjoy the scenic mountain roads, small villages, and lush green valleys during your ride. The mesmerizing mountains and flowing rivers will be your companions throughout this journey.
Once you reach Thimphu, go for leisurely walk around Thimphu’s streets and markets. Depending on the time, visit Memorial Chorten, which is also the most visible religious structure in Thimphu and Buddha Dordenma, the 51-metre-tall solid bronze. Statue of Buddha seated on the three-story base.
DAY 3: THIMPHU TO PHOBJIKHA (135KM | 6-7 HRS)
Post breakfast, check out and start ride to Phobjikha. Highlights - Dochula Pass (3150m): Enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas and 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens, Wangdue Phodrang: Stop by the scenic district and admire its quaint landscapes and Lawa La Pass (3400m): A high-altitude pass offering stunning views. Reach the pristine Phobjikha Valley by evening which is known for its natural beauty. This area is known for black-necked cranes, wild boars, sambars, Himalayan black bears, leopards and red foxes are also there in surrounding hills.
DAY 4: PHOBJIKHA TO BUMTHANG (160KM | 6-7 HRS)
Today's ride will be from Phobjikha to Bumthang- A scenic journey through Bhutan’s central valleys. Enroute visit the largest fortress in Bhutan, Trongsa Dzong which stands on a spur overlooking the gorge of the Mangdi Chuu river. It has great historical significance.
DAY 5: BUMTHANG TO PUNAKHA (190KM | 7-8 HRS)
Today the ride starts early to cover a longer distance. The journey from Bumthang to Punakha takes you from Bhutan's spiritual heartland to its historic and fertile valley. This ride offers mesmerizing mountain scenery, cultural insights, and the thrill of winding roads. Stop by Chumey Valley, known for its traditional wool weaving (Yathra). If time permits, you can visit a local weaving center and see artisans at work. Arrive at Punakha, known for its fertile valleys and historical sites ~Visit the iconic Punakha Dzong, located at the confluence of two rivers
DAY 6: PUNAKHA TO PARO (140KM | 5-6 HRS)
Start your journey to Paro, Bhutan’s most picturesque valley. En route, visit Simtokha Dzong (the oldest dzong in Bhutan). Explore Paro town and its serene landscape upon arrival.
DAY 7: PARO - TIGER'S NEST HIKE (1HR TRAVEL + 5-6 HRS HIKE)
Wake up early and get ready for an exciting day! Your trip to Bhutan is incomplete without hiking to the legendary Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang). Perched dramatically on a sheer cliff at 3,120m above sea level, this sacred site is a symbol of Bhutan’s spiritual heritage and offers unparalleled views of the Paro Valley. After getting back, relax and unwind in your hotel or explore Paro’s local markets for souvenirs like prayer flags, thangkas (scroll paintings), and traditional textiles.
DAY 8: DEPART FROM PARO AIRPORT
Depending on your flight timings, get dropped off at Paro Airport for flight back to India. Thus, your amazing motorbiking odyssey across Bhutan comes to an end with memories of a lifetime!
