Ladakh Explorations & Expeditions are our favorite series of events of the year! It gets exciting every year as we keep adding on some extra adventure! Ladakh in winters gives you a sight of amazing white washed landscapes, scintillating mountains, snow covered trees and frozen lakes.

We will be driving on those long serene roads and completely off roads with views you will never see anywhere else; enjoy the coldest region, visit the frozen lake, witness the vibrant Ladakhi festival and create everlasting memories! It is definitely an adventure of a lifetime!

Itinerary

Day 1 –  Arrival at Leh. Acclimatize - Leh Palace, Tsemo monastery, Shanti Stupa 
Day 2 – Leh to Lamayuru to Leh. Sangam, Lamayuru Monastery 
Day 3 – Leh to Pangong Tso via Changla 
Day 4 – Pangong Tso to Tsomoriri via Chushul & Tsaga-la 
Day 5 – Tsomoriri to Leh via Chumathang. Thiksey Monastery 
Day 6 – Leh – Khardungla – Stok Palace – Leh 
Day 7 – Depart from Leh


DETAILED ITINERARY 

Day 1 - Acclimatization in Leh - Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace
After the pickup from Leh Airport and get some rest in a guest house for acclimatization. Later in the afternoon, post Lunch go around the town to Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace. The rest of the day is for relaxation and some shopping. Stay in Guest House at Leh

Day 2 - Leh to Lamayuru Monastery to Leh
Post breakfast head to Srinagar highway to visit the famous Confluence point of Zanskar and Indus Rivers and Magnetic hill. Then visit the Moonland of Ladakh – Lamayuru and its monastery. Lamayuru is one of the largest and oldest monastery in Ladakh, with a population of around 150 permanent monk’s residents. Reach Leh by evening. Stay in Guest House at Leh

Day 3 - Leh to Pangong Tso via Changla
You will cross the Third Highest Motorable Road - Chang La (17590 ft) while driving to Pangong. You will go past streams that are semi-frozen and flowing gently through beautiful ice fields. The patterns and forms made by the ice will make you want to sit there forever and watch them. Stay in Guesthouse/Homestay at Spangmik

Day 4 - Pangong Tso to Tsomoriri via Chushul & Tsaga-la
On your journey to Tsomoriri from Spangmik, start driving on the dirt track right next to the lake. This will be the most scenic ride of the entire trip although the entire stretch is off-road. From Chushul, head towards the high altitude pass of Tsaga La. Grab your lunch at a small village Tsaga and then reach next destination – Tsomoriri. Stay in Guesthouse/Homestay at Karzok

Day 5 - Tsomoriri to Leh via Thiksey 
After exploring around Tsomoriri Lake in the morning, depart to your next destination at Tso Kar which is fairly nearby. Tso Kar known for its size and depth, is a fluctuating salt lake situated in the Rupshu Plateau and valley in the southern part of Ladakh. Then hit the good roads of Manali-Leh Highway and cross the third highest motorable road - Tanglang La. Before reaching Leh visit the Thiksey monastery. Thiksey Monastery is located 19 kilometres from Leh. It is situated on a hillock overlooking the Indus Valley with full view of the magnificent Stok range. Stay in Guest House at Leh

Day 6 - Leh  to Khardungla to Stok Monastery to Leh
Today’s drive starts with us conquering the mighty Khardung La (the World's Highest Motorable Road at a height of 18,380 ft). Post lunch head to Stok Monastery, It was founded by Lama Lhawang Lotus in the 14th Century and has a notable library including all 108 volumes of the Kangyur. Then head back to Leh and you will have a free evening for some shopping and to reminisce the days spent the icy mountain landscapes. Stay in Guest House at Leh

Day 7- Depart from Leh
Post breakfast transfer to Airport. Thus your Ladakh odyssey comes to an end with lots of memories to take back.
