Ladakh Explorations & Expeditions are our favorite series of events of the year! It gets exciting every year as we keep adding on some extra adventure! Ladakh in winters gives you a sight of amazing white washed landscapes, scintillating mountains, snow covered trees and frozen lakes.

We will be driving on those long serene roads and completely off roads with views you will never see anywhere else; enjoy the coldest region, visit the frozen lake, witness the vibrant Ladakhi festival and create everlasting memories! It is definitely an adventure of a lifetime!

Itinerary

Day 1 –  Arrival at Leh. Acclimatise - Leh Palace, Tsemo monastery, Shanti Stupa 
Day 2 – Leh to Lamayuru to Leh. Sangam, Hemis Shukpachan, Lamayuru Monastery 
Day 3 – Leh to Pangong Tso via Changla 
Day 4 – Pangong Tso to Tsomoriri via Chushul & Tsagala 
Day 5 – Tsomoriri to Leh via Chumathang. Thiksey Monastery 
Day 6 – Leh – Khardungla / Local Cultural Festival – Leh 
Day 7 – Depart from Leh


DETAILED ITINERARY 

Day 1 - Acclimatization in Leh - Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace
After the pickup from Leh Airport and get some rest in a guest house for acclimatization. Later in the afternoon, post Lunch go around the town to Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace. The rest of the day is for relaxation and some shopping. Overnight stay at Leh.

Day 2 - Leh to Lamayuru Monastery to Leh
Post breakfast head to Srinagar highway to visit the famous Confluence point of Zanskar and Indus Rivers and Magnetic hill. Then visit the Moonland of Ladakh – Lamayuru and its monastery. Lamayuru is one of the largest and oldest monastery in Ladakh, with a population of around 150 permanent monk’s resident. Reach Leh by evening. Stay in Guest House at Leh

Day 3 - Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardungla
Today’s drive starts with us conquering the mighty Khardung La (the World's Highest Motorable Road at a height of 18,380 ft). Driving further downhill, enter the heart of Nubra valley. It is an amazing experience that you will remember for the rest of your life. Visit the oldest and largest monastery, Diskit monastery in Nubra valley. It is located at an altitude of 3142 meters. The drive along the Shayok River to enter Hunder sand dunes is a treat for the eyes. After Monastery visit, head out to explore the sand dunes. Like an oasis amidst the cold desert, Hunder Sand Dunes are beautiful beyond imagination. Located at an altitude of 4,000 meters, the desert is cut across by a gentle stream and the beautiful countryside. With such stunning landscapes against the backdrop of the snow-clad mountains, the Hunder Sand Dune looks nothing less than a fairy world. Stay in Homestay at Hunder

Day 4 – Nubra to Pangong Lake via Shyok
Today’s route is actually a shortcut road to reach the famous Pangong Tso via Shayok. You will go past streams that are semi-frozen and flowing gently through beautiful ice fields. The patterns and forms made by the ice will make you want to sit there forever and watch them. Stay in Homestay at Spangmik/Pangong

Day 5 - Pangong Lake to Leh via Changla
On your journey back to Leh today, conquer the Third Highest Motorable Road - Chang La (17590 ft). Do not miss hot lemon tea and delicious local Thukpa at the Chang La canteen. After another gruelling descent from the pass, you get connected to the Manali - Leh highway after Sakti village. From then the road till Leh will be a smooth sail. Stay in Guesthouse at Leh

Day 6- Leh – Thiksey – Shey Palace – Hemis Monastery – Leh
Post breakfast visit the Thiksey monastery. Thiksey Monastery is located 19 kilometres from Leh and lies on the Leh-Manali road. It is situated on a hillock overlooking the Indus Valley with full view of the magnificent Stok range. Shey Palace is about 15 Km from Leh and locates on the top of a hillock overlooking the Shey village. And Hemis Monastery is situated in the foothills of Indus at a distance of 45 km from Leh. Travelling to Hemis monastery itself is a thrilling experience and the surroundings make the journey a memorable one. Stay in Guest House at Leh

Day 7- Transfer to Airport
Post breakfast transfer to Airport. Thus your Ladakh odyssey comes to an end with lots of memories to take back.
