DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1 – Guwahati Airport to Nameri National Park

The group arrives early in the morning in Guwahati, a vibrant riverside gateway city that serves as the perfect launchpad for the journey into Arunachal Pradesh. Riders freshen up and head out for a quick test ride of the bikes within the city, giving riders a feel of the machines and a chance to check brakes, fine-tune mirrors, handlebar alignment.
Post lunch and brief introduction to the tour, we head out towards Arunachal Pradesh. The highway towards Nameri National Park passes through lush tea gardens, small Assamese towns, and stretches of dense forests, offering a relaxed start to the expedition.Upon reaching, riders can unwind by the riverbank, enjoying the sounds of the forest and watching the sunset over the river valley. The evening concludes with a welcome dinner and tour briefing for the upcoming Himalayan ride.

Day 2 – Nameri National Park to Sangti Valley

The day begins with breakfast beside the Jia Bhoroli River before the group mounts up for the ride toward Arunachal Pradesh. Soon the riders reach the border town of Bhalukpong, the entry gate to Arunachal where permits are checked. From here the terrain quickly transforms as the road climbs through dense forests of the Eastern Himalayas toward the town of Dirang.
Riders pass small tribal settlements and scenic viewpoints along the Kameng River valley. After lunch in Dirang, the journey continues for a short but stunning ride into the hidden Sangti Valley, one of Arunachal’s most picturesque valleys.

Day 3 – Sangti Valley to Sela Pass to Tawang

Today’s ride is one of the most dramatic sections of the journey as the group heads toward the legendary Sela Pass, located at an altitude of around 13,700 ft. After breakfast, the road gradually climbs from Sangti through alpine forests and rugged mountain terrain. At the summit riders stop at the breathtaking Sela Lake, which remains frozen during winter months and reflects the surrounding snow-covered mountains.
Descending from the pass, the route passes through remote military settlements and dramatic valleys before reaching the historic town of Tawang. Upon arrival riders check into their hotel and spend the evening acclimatizing to the high altitude. A stroll through the local market followed by dinner offers the first glimpse into the rich Tibetan-Buddhist culture of the region

Day 4 – Tawang monastery to Bumla Pass to Chumi Gyatse to Damteng

The morning begins with a visit to the iconic Tawang Monastery, the largest monastery in India and one of the most important Buddhist monasteries in the world. After the visit, riders head toward the high-altitude frontier road leading to Bum La Pass, located near the Indo-China border at around 15,200 ft. This ride is adventurous, with rough terrain, glacial lakes, and dramatic landscapes. On the return route the group stops at the sacred Chumi Gyatse Falls, a revered pilgrimage site where hot water cascades down the mountainside. From here the journey continues through remote mountain roads to the quiet settlement of Damteng, where the night is spent in a simple yet scenic mountain guesthouse.

Day 5 – Damteng to Madhuri Lake to Taktsang monastery to Zemithang

Today’s ride explores some of the most remote and scenic areas of western Tawang district. After breakfast the riders head toward the famous Madhuri Lake, also known as Sangestar Tso. Surrounded by dramatic mountains and tree trunks rising from the water, the lake gained fame after being featured in a Bollywood film.
Continuing the journey, riders visit the secluded Taktsang Monastery (also called the Tiger’s Nest of Arunachal), a cliffside monastery believed to be blessed by Guru Padmasambhava. The route then descends into the beautiful valley of Zemithang, a culturally significant town close to the Bhutan border. This region played an important role during the escape route of the Dalai Lama into India.

Day 6 – Zemithang to Lumla to Chakzam Bridge to Jung waterfalls

Riders begin the morning by exploring the peaceful riverside of Zemithang before starting toward Lumla. The road now becomes a cultural ride as Monpa villages, traditional homes, grazing grounds, and local school yards flash past the visors. The ride halts at the historic Chakzam Bridge, a 15th-century iron-chain suspension bridge built by Tibetan saint Thangtong Gyalpo. The bridge sways over roaring water and becomes a moment of historical awe before the ride continues to Jung. Jung is known for its dramatic waterfalls and the calm presence of the countryside around it. The group checks into a cozy lodge, enjoying the soft transition from frontier wilderness to gentle valley life.

Day 7 – Jung to Shergaon

The ride toward Shergaon becomes one of the prettiest and least commercial riding days. Shergaon is a serene Bugun tribal village in West Kameng, surrounded by orchards, bamboo homes, mist-dipped forests. The road winds through Rupa and Bomdila regions, but instead of stopping at the main towns, the group rides deeper into the quieter side roads toward Shergaon. Riders reach the village by afternoon, check into homestays, and spend the evening enjoying local rice wine, traditional Bugun food, and stories around a fireplace. The night feels warm despite the winter chill outside.

Day 8 – Shergaon to Guwahati

The final ride back to Guwahati is the longest low-altitude riding stretch of the tour. Riders leave the mountains behind and descend into Assam again, where the road opens wide and fast. There is nostalgia in the air, but also celebration—because the mountains delivered everything promised. The group stops for a last local lunch together before the final 3-hour highway cruise into Guwahati. The ride ends by evening as bikes are returned, memories sealed, and the adventure quietly transforms into stories riders will carry home for years.
